At AWAL, we have always championed independent artists who are working to build meaningful careers on their creative journey. Fundamental to our efforts is our commitment to protecting artists’ rights and preserving the value of their music.
Unfortunately, the music industry has increasingly become a soft target for bad actors. As a result, without proper protective measures, value can leak out of the system away from real artists.
As a trusted partner—both for artists and music platforms—AWAL considers it our responsibility to be a part of the solution, ensuring artistic content continues to be properly valued by the market. Our Trust & Safety guidelines serve as the manifestation of that responsibility, designed to promote a secure digital ecosystem where artists can thrive.
Through our Trust & Safety practices, we use content fingerprinting, account review processes, and submission requirements (among other measures) to shield art from unauthorized use and ensure fair practice across all platforms. Ultimately, we hope to foster a transparent and safe environment where artists are empowered to shape culture through the stories they tell with their music.
To further this mission, if we identify activity which undermines these values, such as artificially inflated consumption, unauthorized streaming or improper practices which do not align with the policy guidelines of our DSP partners or the spirit of these Trust and Safety guidelines, we will take action, including suspending the accounts involved and withholding associated payments as appropriate.
