Who can use Collaborators? Any user with “Admin” or “Accounting” permissions.
What is Collaborators? Collaborators is a set of tools that allows you to calculate collaborator splits, generate and review detailed reporting for each collaborator, and set up bulk payments.
Why should you use Collaborators? You no longer need to export statements just to import them again into another royalty system. You no longer need to copy/paste products from one system to another. You no longer have to fiddle with Excel sheets and pivot tables. You can now manage your releases and royalty calculations in one place. The batch payment feature reduces the time it takes to make multiple payments or write individual checks to your collaborators.
What does Collaborators offer? Collaborators allows you to calculate collaborator shares, manage royalties by tracking revenues, expenses, and outstanding balances, and make batch payments to multiple collaborators simultaneously.
How does the Collaborator Portal feature work? The Collaborator Portal allows you to securely distribute statements to collaborators online, eliminating the need to manually download, email, print, or mail statements.
How do I enable my collaborators to receive statements online? Users with admin access can click the “Invite” button on the collaborator page, enter the collaborator's name and email address, and send an invitation. Collaborators will receive an email inviting them to create an account for portal access.
How do my collaborators access the portal? Collaborators can access the portal at https://accounting.awal.com/. Users with access to other AWAL apps can easily switch to the Accounting app using the app switcher in the bottom left corner.
What can collaborators access on the portal? Once you close a statement period, collaborators can download their statement, identical to the PDF you see when logged in. They can also view a graph of royalties earned, access detailed revenue reports for closed periods, view transactions included in closed periods, and access statements from previously closed periods.
Can collaborators see revenue reports and transactions entered for the current period? No, collaborators can only access statements and transaction details after you close a statement period.
Can I provide access to more than one recipient for an individual collaborator? Yes, you can send multiple invitations to different recipients for each collaborator.
How do I change or terminate access to the portal? You can manage this through the “Manage Users” area in the Settings app.
Can I remove access to a statement once I have closed a period? No, once a statement period is closed, all collaborators with access can view the statements. This action is irreversible, so you're prompted to confirm before finalizing.
Why can’t I see the Invite button? Only users with admin permissions can invite collaborators. Contact your account admin to use this feature.
Can I change a collaborator’s name after creating them? Yes, click “edit details” when managing the collaborator to change their name, add a description, or internal ID number.
Can I delete a collaborator? No, but you can edit their name and delete any splits they have.
